Marla Audio has recently released a macOS MIDI plugin that adds natural timing and velocity variation to rigid, on-grid MIDI — then lets producers drag the humanized result straight back into their DAW.
Many sessions stall on the same problem: MIDI that is technically correct on the grid but feels stiff and mechanical. Hand-editing timing and velocity on every note breaks creative flow. Mini Humanizer is built for that moment — drop in a clip, dial feel, and export humanized MIDI in seconds.
The plugin applies per-note timing drift and velocity spread within user-defined ranges. Timing can be shaped from −50 ms to +50 ms; velocity from −24 to +24. Four built-in presets — Session Pro, Pocket Player, Loose Player, and Chaos Player — provide starting points for different feels. Users can save and recall their own presets when they find a setting that works.
Mini Humanizer works on any MIDI material: drums, bass, keys, and melodic parts. It is designed to complement the instruments and sample libraries producers already use, not replace them. The workflow is simple: load MIDI, adjust timing and velocity, drag the humanized MIDI file back into Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Reaper, or any AU/VST3 host on macOS.
