MeldaProduction has announced the release of a highly anticipated plugin designed to perfectly clean up drum tracks.
MDrumCleaner is the ultimate solution to the age-old problem of drum bleed. Mixing drums can be a nightmare when you try to bring out the snare or toms, only to get harsh hi-hat bleed and smeared cymbals that ruin the mix’s clarity. Conventional gates often cut off natural decay, resulting in an unnatural sound.
This new plugin combines five advanced algorithms that can be used independently or together. At its core is intelligent drum hit detection, enabling precise signal processing. Thanks to these technologies, MDrumCleaner instantly removes unwanted frequencies while preserving the natural tone and dynamics of the recording.
The tool benefits from MeldaProduction’s signature versatility, including advanced modulation capabilities and deep sound shaping. It features specialised modules designed to tackle even the most demanding mix situations, from aggressive cymbals to subtle background noise.
MDrumCleaner offers five key modules:
- Cymbal Killer: Utilizes a targeted filter that suppresses high frequencies and opens the top end only during the actual drum hit.
- Side-chain Remover: Magically eliminates whatever you send into the side-chain input, making it ideal for removing a specific instrument like the hi-hat.
- Spectrum Cleaner: Learns the unique acoustic footprint of a hit and instantly removes everything that falls outside of it.
- Spectrum Gate: Automatically removes quieter frequencies across the spectrum based on the volume difference between the hit and the bleed.
- Gate: A classic dynamic tool taken to a whole new level for ultra-precise response.
Available for Windows and Mac (VST/VST3, AU and AAX), MDrumCleaner is on sale for the intro price of 29 USD/EUR through October 31st, 2026 (regular 149 USD/EUR). A 15-day fully functional trial version is available.
