MG Music has recently released its debut library, a deeply-sampled double-ukulele instrument for Kontakt Player.
MG Music is a new venture from London-based, Ivor Novello-nominated composer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mike Georgiades, whose credits include the Assassin’s Creed franchise (Odyssey, Shadows). Georgiades previously released MG Soft Nylon Guitar and MG Soft Acoustic Guitar with Spitfire Audio, and developed Ronroco, sampling the instrument played by composer Gustavo Santaolalla himself. MG Ukuleles marks the first release under his own brand, with further instruments planned throughout 2026.
MG Ukuleles combines two contrasting ukulele voices in one instrument:
- Soprano: The bright, strummy classic ukulele tone suited to delicate fingerpicking.
- Baritone: A lower-pitched, richer voice with nylon-string-guitar-like resonance suited to folk, pop, and soft arpeggiated writing. Includes an alternative DI signal routable through the instrument’s built-in amp models for extra grit.
Powered by the free Kontakt Player, MG Ukuleles features up to 7 round robins and 4 dynamic layers per note, keyswitched slurs, slides, legato, vibrato, palm mutes, bends, and instrument noise. An Auto chord and strum system resolves the correct major/minor/7th/suspended voicing from a played triad, and manual mode is available for full control, with strumming, arpeggiation, humanization, and open-string ring.
The instrument library also includes a custom sequencer with 4 banks, up to 32 editable steps, per-step articulation and strum direction, swing and humanization, and ready-made ukulele patterns with drag-out MIDI. A built-in convolution and algorithmic reverb, delay, and 3 amp models further allow shaping the sound of the ukuleles.
MG Ukuleles is available to purchase for the launch price of £55 GBP for a limited time (regular £75 GBP).
