The Mix Challenge audio community is celebrating its 12th anniversary, spanning 12 years of education, experimentation, and collaboration, encouraging people to “just make music”.
Some words from the organizer, Roland Löhlbach:
“We have now passed the 12-year mark, marking a vast history of 110 Mix(ing) Challenges and 106 Songwriting Competitions to date.
Year 11 came with its share of challenges. Despite certain setbacks (e.g. an array of server woes and limited time), a lot of work has gone into streamlining processes and preparing the foundation for future additions to the community. This includes various technical quality-of-life improvements and new challenges to participate in.
More than anything, I want to thank everyone who has helped keep this small community alive over the years. I really appreciate your contributions, encouragement, and willingness to participate. Without you, the Mix Challenge would not be what it is today. Please continue to share knowledge, interact with one another, reach out, and help each other grow while gathering valuable experience. Thank you for being part of this community and for your support throughout the years.

The following challenges are currently open to compete in:
- Mix Challenge 110: Have the chance to work on a Rock production by Spanish band “Sintapujo”. Deadline: June 21st, 2026; 23:59 UTC+2/CEST.
- Songwriting Competition 106: The theme is “Surreal” (Picture Theme) . Create a production in any music genre you feel like (fitting to the given premise). Deadline: June 24th, 2026; 23:59 UTC+2/CEST.
