MKS Mixing has announced an update to its delay effect plugin for Windows, macOS and Linux. Version 1.5 of DelayU-42 comes with various improvements.
The grit and warmth of the industryβs most sought-after 80s digital delay was captured. DelayU-42 delivers the signature limiter and heavy-hitting saturation that shaped legendary records.
Changes in DelayU-42 v1.5
- Headroom Meter Redesign: Completely updated the color indicators and shape of the headroom meter to give producers clearer, more accurate visual feedback on how hard they are hitting the limiter stage.
- Audio Engine Reliability: Implemented a click-free bypass and full DSP state reset. It now behaves perfectly during transport looping and stays completely stable under heavy DAW parameter automation.
- CPU & UI Optimization: Refactored the entire UI rendering pipeline to drastically reduce CPU overhead. The GUI scaling is now completely fluid too.
- Routing Stability: Hardened the backend to prevent crashes when users route the plugin through non-standard channel layouts or push the extreme edges of the DSP limits.
The plugin is free to download in VST3, AU and CLAP formats.
