MNTRA Instruments has released its latest MNDALA 2-powered virtual instrument featuring a collection of transmuted ceremonial instruments from Mexico. Nagual is a reactive polyphonic instrument built from rare Pre-Hispanic ceremonial sources.
Collaborating with Ramiro Ramírez, one of Mexico’s most revered musicians in these traditions, we captured clay flutes, conch trumpets, wooden drums, ocarinas, and ritual whistles, then transmuted them into a living instrument where sources merge, morph, and respond to your touch in real time. Sources originally limited to single tones—now reactive, blendable, and fully performable.
Available for Windows and macOS in VST3, AU and AAX plugin formats, Nagual is on sale at Plugin Boutique for the intro priced of $39 USD until March 20th, 2026 (regular $59 USD). The new instrument is also part of the Portals Bundle, which is on sale for $199 USD during the promotion.
