ModeAudio has introduced a new sample pack featuring a collection of 808 drum machine samples recorded to tape. Comprising a total of 203 one shots, 122 loops and 35 MIDI files, Tape 808 brings clean, pristine drums, sampled directly from the original drum unit, plus a set of cassette and reel-to-reel tape processed drums.
For this pack, we sourced an original 1980s 808 drum machine and sampled it extensively in all its glory – we wanted to take things up a few notches however, so we layered up the analog goodness by running the hardware drum samples through not only our Yamaha 4 track cassette recorder, but also our coveted Akai reel-to-reel tape machine.
Classic 808 boom and snap married with the warm, crunchy vibes of analog tape – simply a match made in heaven!
