Oblivion Sound Lab has announced an new soundset for u-he’s Repro, a plugin suite which meticulously models two famous synthesizers.
A collection of 81 presets designed to capture the essence of early ’80s electro, Robotica is inspired by the pioneering sounds of acts such as Kraftwerk, Cybotron, Newcleus, and Mantronix, with a nod to second wave electro producers like Anthony Rother and Dopplereffekt.
Alongside faithful emulations of classic tones, you will find brand new patches that channel the spirit of old school electro. From warm and analog to synthetic and experimental, these sounds will be at home in genres where drum machine rhythms and robotic funk intersect – including electro, techno, bass music, electronica, hip-hop and retrosynth.
Originally conceived in 2020 before I shifted focus to other projects, these patches refused to be forgotten. I have dusted them off, and am releasing Robotica with “pay what you want” pricing (minimum $1). Enjoy! Also included is a collection of one-shot drum samples from the set, and a Logic Pro Sampler drum kit made by electro producer Supreme.ja.
The soundset is available as a “pay what you like” download.
