Compressors

Based on one of the most flexible and creative analog compressors ever made. With eight selectable curves, selectable 2nd or 3rd order harmonic saturation, high-pass/band-pass filters on the sidechain path and much more, Comprexxor delivers endless sonic flexibility, whether that’s emulating classic sounds of the past or inspiring new ones for tomorrow.

Emulating a well-known American tube compressor, celebrated for its warm sound and vivid colored tone. IK Multimedia’s virtual circuit modeling perfectly recreates its ability to glue a mix together, shinging on everything from individual tracks to the mastering chain. Add saturation and unique color by pushing Dyna-Mu to its limits.

Based on a legendary, fully tube-based vintage unit, one of the most famous vocal compressors ever. Just set the peak reduction knob to adjust how much compression you want, use the gain knob to set the output level, and enjoy a gentle, warm, and fat compression on any track.

Based on the 'Holy Grail' of compressor/limiters, the 'golden reference' Fairchild™ 670. With a faithful reproduction of each control, this Vari-MU type compressor/limiter gives shine to anything passing through it, thanks to its tube signal path and gain reduction mode.

Recreating the characteristic 'movement' of optical compression, which distortis less as it compresses than other methods. This module focuses on this specific type of compression (coming from the interaction of a light source and receptor), offering a special sonic character that brings weight without breaking down.

Based on the mix bus compressor of a legendary mixing console from the '80s, used on practically every hit record and production from then to today. The compressor was so widely used that it became a stand-alone unit, bringing the same trademark sound to even more studios across the world.

Multiband processors split audio in to frequency bands, but this filtering can sometimes cause artifacts and phasing issues. Quad Comp features 4 adjustable optical compressors for detailed and transparent compression that doesn't introduce artifacts.

Emulates vintage analog mastering gear. With some unique features like the Sidechain HPF (to avoid the 'pumping' sound of over-compressed bass) and Stereo Enhancement, this module offers useful tools alongside standard compression controls.

Limiters

An ultra-transparent mastering peak limiter, helping you achieve commercial loudness while maintaining a clean sound full of dynamics. Stealth Limiter works under-the-hood to reduce levels moment-by-moment instead of using traditional look-ahead compression, keeping levels under control while preserving dynamics.

Based on one of the legendary British compressors found in top-level studios worldwide. Even when it's pushed to extreme settings, Precision Comp/Limiter retains a musical quality that doesn't 'choke' or squash program material, working especially well as a master bus compressor.

Designed as a final tool to bring your track or mix to 'industry standard' levels. Just set Brickwall Limiter to one of several algorithms (called 'Styles'), adjust the Output Ceiling, and raise the input until you've got your desired loudness.

Modeled after one of the most used, most known, and most universally recognized compressors/limiters ever, even recreating features like its lightning-fast attack and the 'all buttons in' mode that creates distinctive distortion. Simple to use and easy on the ears, it's also a 'go to' unit for standard compression duties.

Quad Lim is the limiter version of Quad Comp, offering similar control and transparency. It's especially useful as a finishing mastering tool and also features a master brickwall limiter (after the multi-band processing) to push maximum loudness without distortion.

A multi-band limiter for reducing unwanted peaks. Limiting happens on three separate bands (low, mid, high) which can be defined with the two crossover frequency controls. Each of the bands has separate controls to tailor the overall limiting effect.

EQs

A 10-band, ultra-clear, high-end parametric EQ with an extremely transparent sound. This incredibly flexible 'hybrid monster' gives you the best of both worlds—digital precision with transparent clarity and on-demand analog character that works perfectly for high-end mastering and individual tracks.

Based on one of the best and most musical program EQs ever made, the Pultec® EQP-1A. This module features extremely accurate modeling of two real world units, known to have 'the sound', offering character and musicality especially when performing broad-frequency boosts.

A 6-band equalizer tool for detailed and transparent frequency adjustments. The linear phase approach doesn't alter the phase of frequency bands during boosts or cuts, allowing this module to offer a cleaner sound than the colored tones of many famous analog EQs.

Designed after a 'go-to' equalizer on many custom modular consoles of the late '60s and '70s. This module's 3-band proportional Q design made the original box a mainstay in many studios, but it also features modern improvements for easier usability, like separating the frequency and gain knobs.

Following in the footsteps of the simpler 3-band EQ PA, EQ PB adds more flexibility by adding a fourth EQ band. This module also allows for overlapping bands for complex EQ shapes, all while maintaining the character of the original hardware it's based on.

Designed as a variation to the standard 3- and 4-band console EQs. Feturing the descrete signal path and proportional Q design of the EQ PA and EQ PB modules, EQ PG uses a 10-band graphic approach, making it quick and easy to dial in a specific shape without losing the original unit's character.

Based on one of the most heavily used and sought-after pieces of hardware in recording history. Originally part of a large-format British mixing console, this unit was first introduced as a standalone box in 1970, quickly becoming a studio staple for its thick class-A sound, rich in harmonics and fullness.

Delivering legendary British warmth and tone with a few twists. A more precise evolution of the EQ 73, the EQ 81 module is based on another classic piece of hardware whose character was instrumental in shaping the sound of many hit songs, maintaining tone while offering organic, analog warmth.

Based on the 'golden reference' standard in mastering equalizers, the first parametric EQ ever invented. The design quickly became the basis for most parametric EQs from manufacturers everywhere, offering independent bands while maintaining pristine audio quality and superior transient response.

A high-quality, 6-band parametric EQ, specially designed to achieve high-end performance in a mastering environment. Give 'air to the high end, 'fullness' to the low end, or 'focus' to the midrange of a mix with a smooth result for creative and musical applications.

Delay & Effects

IK Multimedia and Hammond USA and Suzuki Music Corp. of Japan teamed up to bring you 5 legendary Leslie® amps and 6 cabinets in one powerful module. Able to easily create classic organ and keyboard sounds, T-RackS Leslie is also a powerful creative tool for vocals, drums, guitars, and more.

Tape echo offers a unique sonic signature, and perhaps no unit offers a more recognizable sound than the Roland® RE-201 Space Echo™. Now you can enjoy the endlessly flexible controls and the instantly recognizable organic sound of this classic delay unit, captured with an unprecedented level of detail.

A faithful recreation of the highly sought-after Echoplex EP3 tape delay. The original unit first arrived in 1969 and was immediately adopted by musicians and guitar players as the standard for delay effects. This module brings modern flexibility and control without losing interesting analog 'imperfections'.

A microphone-modeling tool that puts a world-class collection of 20+ classic and contemporary microphones at your fingertips. Process and 're-mic' your tracks to sound and perform like some of the most coveted mic models of all time, ranging from dynamic and condenser mics to ribbon mics and other creative types.

Combining mid-side processing with a multiband approach, Quad Image can effectively control the stereo width of each frequency band, giving your mixes more dimension and depth. Fix technical issues in your mix or even use Quad Image to create unique and unusual stereo 'tricks'.

Mastering

Automatically matches the frequency balance and perceived loudness of your tracks with up to 3 references. Create great sounding mixes and masters by capturing the overall sound of your favorite tracks and applying it to your own music quickly and easily.

Designed as an 'all-in-one' solution for easily and effectively shaping the sound of single tracks, mix subgroups, and even final masters. ONE includes an EQ, compressor, harmonic exciter, low-end enhancer, and limiter that help anyone achieve professional quality results quickly and effectively.

A comprehensive suite of metering tools to provide immediate visualizations of your audio. Stay compliant with leading reference standards using a precision LUFS meter for loudness, plus Peak / RMS / Dynamic Range meters to monitor your 'crest factor' (the difference between Peak and RMS levels—the dynamic range).

Reverb

Phil Collins made history when he tracked the explosive drum sounds for the worldwide hit 'In the Air Tonight'. The studio’s stone-walled drum room gave an interesting reverb sound, and once crushed by compression, this became a signature drum sound of the '80s. This module recreates the widely influential heavy reverb of that legendary sound.

For over 60 years, FAME Recording Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, has produced an endless stream of iconic hits powered by a sound that simply can’t be found anywhere else in the world. This module brings you inside the magic too, capturing the sonic mojo of this studio’s live rooms, iso booths, plate reverb, and newly restored chamber.

Few studios have contributed as much to the sonic imprint of music culture as Los Angeles’ Sunset Sound Studio. This module lets you step inside Sunset Sound Studios, capturing the character of its echo chambers, live rooms, booths, plates, and springs, as well as the unique vibe of their custom consoles and classic mic collection.

Developed to recreate the sound-enhancing effect of real concert halls, featuring a natural decay that doesn't obstruct the original signal. This module's depth and precise stereo image make the reverb very clean, while still being deep and enveloping.

Plate reverbs first came out in the late '50s, using a vibrating metal plate to create the sound of reverb. Dense and even, this module recreates the characteristic 'plate sound' that references the immortal '60s records where it was abundantly used.

Designed to reproduce the reverbs of medium-to-small spaces. This module is particularly useful to “dress” an overly dry signal in a natural ambience that won't sound like an artificial reverb, but rather like it was recorded in a real room.

Reverse reverbs were popularized in the 1980's, heard on many rock snare drums from this time. This module applies an envelope (slow attack, fast decay) to the early reflections, also allowing you to adjust the Time to fine-tune the buildup and cutoff of those early reflections.

Saturation

The TASCAM 388 was a large format studio in one unit. It featured a standard mixer with full faders and a tape machine section, which could perform 8-track multi-track recording. The sound of the 388 is described as 'magic' by many musicians, becoming legendary over the years.

TASCAM literally invented affordable and portable recording in 1979 with the super innovative TEAC 144, followed by the TASCAM 244. But it was the TASCAM PORTA ONE that became the bestselling Portastudio ever and led to a revolution in home and mobile recording. Use this module to tap into that free-spirited frame of mind and enjoy the sound that inspired some of history's greatest songs.

The TEAC 3340S 4-channel Simul-Sync® tape deck was part of the second generation of their Creator series. This module puts all the controls from the original at your disposal, along with some additional features. Calibrate the record and playback heads and choose from 2 tape speeds and 4 tape formulas for a wide variety of tape-machine effects.

The TEAC A-6100 MKII was one of the first tape machines ever made for the sole purpose of mastering. To develop this tool, IK Multimedia interviewed the original product designer about how TEAC engineered the A-6100 in 1973 to be the most reliable and best-sounding mastering deck possible. Use this module to bring these tape effects into your own productions.

Professional analog tape recorders are highly prized tools, valued for their unique character. Tape Machine 24 carefully recreates the unique sound of a fantastic US-made machine, bringing the same pristine, phase-coherent sound that stays remarkably true-to-source with any audio.

When it comes to professional analog multi-track tape machines, there’s perhaps none more respected than the Studer A80. This Swiss machine became the universal standard for professional high-end multi-tracking with a perfect blend of transparency and subtle harmonic enhancement, and now it’s available in Tape Machine 80.

The Tape Machine 99 re-creates the Revox PR99 Mk II, a compact, rack-mount stereo recorder produced by Studer in the 1980s under their Revox brand. Engineered around a hybrid design that takes the best of discrete and op-amp topologies, it offers an un-hyped, elegant sound with an extremely smooth frequency response.

The Tape Machine 440 is modeled on the iconic Ampex AG440B stereo recorder, which became the standard for stereo mix-down with a rounded, solid bass and a silky presence on highs and upper mids. The 440 series dates from the late 1960s and delivers an unmistakably soulful color.

From tape to tube to transformer to transistor, Saturator X provides 10 individual styles of saturation and distortion, offering everthing from a gentle hint of drive to a slightly overdriven transistor to the full-on in-your-face mayhem of tubes driven to beyond their limit.

Rather than typical peak limiting, this module uses peak clipping to tame unruly peaks. Peak clipping is often more transparent than standard peak limiting, which is why mastering engineers often use it. Despite its powerful engine, the Classic T-RackS Clipper is easy-to-use, with only Gain, Slope, and Output controls.

Channel Strips

Few engineers craft more attention-grabbing, engaging vocals than GRAMMY-winning producer and engineer Joe Chiccarelli, who's mixed everyone from Elton John to The White Stripes. Joe has partnered with IK Multimedia to offer this unique module, which models Joe’s go-to chain of high-end analog outboard gear, custom signal flow, and unique know-how for controlled and exciting vocals.

Modeled after one of the most widely used pieces of hardware in the music history. The flexibility and trademark sound of this large-format British mixing console has been behind countless hits since the '80s, with many of these consoles still actively used in the control rooms of countless studios around the world today.

The modern counterpart to IK Multimedia's acclaimed British Channel, and a dead-on recreation of the channel strip in a contemporary, high-resolution analog console. Designed with a more 'modern' approach, White Channel features a flexible signal chain and tone.

Designed to control excessive sibilance (exaggerated “s” sounds) on vocal tracks. Able to operate in either 2 or 3 separate bands, De-Esser offers precision and versatility that manages sibilance without affecting the high-frequency 'air' in your vocals.

The fidelity [that the Joe Chiccarelli Vocal Strip] brought out on my lead vocal track was outstanding. Gain and musical compression forever. I love the concept of the compression, echo, and drive. Very flexible and so many ways to use the plugin. The heavy parallel is $$$$$! One thing for sure is my mixes will sound better.

[FAME Studio Reverb] sounds like I'm listening to room mics. It sounds so real it's crazy. It's great to just give instruments a little bit of this space and mix it in... that little bit of depth that just gives it that magic.
