Outboard Audio has announced the release of a new parametric equalizer effect plugin in VST3 and CLAP formats for Windows (a macOS version is in development).
An 8-band mastering EQ with dynamic EQ, Spectral Dynamics, linear and hybrid phase, per-band hardware character, and Dolby Atmos 9.1.6 — one plugin, no compromise between surgical precision and musical color.
Each of the eight bands in Outboard-EQ offers 18 filter types, per-band slopes from 6 to 96 dB/oct, and an independent dynamic EQ with four detector modes (Peak, RMS, Adaptive, Spectral) and an optional free sidechain.
Any band can be switched to a spectral mode that runs through a shared STFT engine (4096-point FFT, 75% overlap) for per-bin resonance suppression.
Outboard-EQ features
- 5 phase modes: minimum (zero latency), natural, linear, hybrid, and per-band.
- Per-band character stages: op-amp voicings, tape (15/30 ips), Pultec-style low-end, density waveshaper, transient designer, split tonal/transient gain.
- EQ Match against four built-in targets (Pink Noise, Bach Orchestral, Hip-Hop, Modern Pop) or any captured source.
- True-peak metering (4× oversampled, ITU-R BS.1770) and integrated LUFS with nine streaming presets, plus K-12 / K-14 / K-20 reference scales.
- 3 spectrum analyzers (pre / post / external) with cross-instance sharing.
- Native channel layouts up to Dolby Atmos 9.1.6 with per-band channel masking.
- 133 factory presets across Instrument, Mixing, Mastering and Character categories.
Outboard-EQ is available to purchase for an introductory price of €35 EUR until July 1st, 2026 (regular €65 EUR). Use coupon code FOUNDER65 at the checkout to get the discount.
