OXO-Music has released a lo-fi sampler and sequencer inspired by classic mid-80s hardware samplers, running the signal path through a 12-bit, 32kHz mono capture for that crunchy, degraded character.
Oxo Sample keeps its start, end, and loop sliders live and directly wired to the audio buffer, so moving them changes playback in real time, and placing start after end plays a sample in reverse. Each of the six sample slots carries its own sequencer, letting a full multi-slot kit be built, sequenced, and resampled entirely inside the plugin.
Oxo Sample features
- Six sample slots with up to six voices each, switchable between monophonic with portamento or polyphonic.
- 12-bit/32kHz mono capture from the input bus or plugin output, with further degradation available down to 20kHz, 16kHz, 10kHz, or 8kHz.
- Live start/end/loop editing during playback, with loop crossfade and random start point.
- LPF and HPF filters, an LFO routable to pitch, filter, or loop point, and velocity-to-level and cutoff control.
- A sequencer per slot with 8 patterns of up to 64 steps, 9 polymetric lanes, and 2 dedicated Control lanes for automating sampler parameters.
- MIDI Learn, alternating stereo spread per voice, and full undo/redo including audio edits.
Oxo Sample is available as an AUv3 plugin for iPad with a free version offering one fully functional slot, and as a desktop VST3/AU plugin for macOS and Windows with a try-before-you-buy demo.
