Parallel Minds has released a major update to its standalone ambient soundscape generator, now available for Linux and iPadOS alongside macOS and Windows.
Reverie turns any audio such as a loop, vocal, cymbal or field recording, into a long evolving ambient bed, up to 30 minutes out of a few seconds of source, through a chain of 37 DSP modules across 22 style families.
You can now choose which part of a source file gets stretched, instead of handing the engine a four minute take and hoping the interesting three seconds survive. That works on every platform. On iPad the app also becomes two audio units, so it plays inside your DAW and can record a bus straight into its own inbox, and it records from a microphone or a USB interface on its own. One mastering change alters what the engine produces, and it is spelled out under Compatibility.

- Sample region selection: Drag two handles across the source waveform and only that region feeds the chain, with playback while you set it, so you hear the boundaries before committing. On macOS, Windows, Linux and iPad.
- Two AUv3 plugins on iPadOS:
- Parallel Minds: Reverie is an instrument that opens your Reverie library inside AUM, Logic Pro, GarageBand or Cubasis and plays finished textures from a keyboard, with note gating, host transport sync, favourites, user presets and parameter automation. Generation happens in the app; the plug-in plays what the app produced.
- Parallel Minds: Reverie Capture is a bit perfect pass-through effect that records any bus straight into Reverie’s Sources inbox, punching in when the host plays and out on the tail.
- In-app recording on iPad, from the microphone or a class compliant USB interface, handing the take straight to the trim editor.
- Rebuilt mastering stage: The shimmer reverb moves from a comb filter network to the same Dattorro plate as the main reverb, which removes the metallic ring on long tails, and a soft peak limiter replaces the global scale to ceiling, so one stray transient no longer sets the level of a whole render.
- Interface pass throughout: Result cards now carry the color of the preset that produced them, and every result has a loop toggle, on by default.
- Linux: Fixed a startup crash on Wayland with the proprietary NVIDIA driver.
A free version of Reverie renders up to three minutes (no account required). The Pro version is priced €29 EUR on desktop, and an in-app purchase on iPadOS. Existing licenses carry over (no repurchase).
