Plughugger has introduced a new soundset for u-he’s Repro virtual instrument suite which emulates the Sequential Circuits Pro-One and Prophet-5.
The spiritual sequel to Future Sound of Retro 80s Pop, Neon City delivers a return ticket to the decade when analog synthesizers ruled the airwaves and pop music shimmered with optimism.
This time, Plughugger left the modern world behind and went all-in on 1980s authenticity: lush analog pads, brassy polysynths, warm basses and glowing leads drenched in neon nostalgia.
Built entirely on the analog heart of u-he Repro, Neon City captures the vibrant palette of the era, focusing mainly on synths, pads and bass for Repro-5, while also including a collection of ready-to-use sequences for Repro-1.
The soundset contains 186 sounds divided into the following categories:
- 43 Bass sounds
- 1 Drum & Percussion
- 24 Sequences (Repro-1)
- 11 Effects
- 48 Pads and Strings
- 59 Synth sounds
All sounds are properly tagged for easy browsing — both in Repro and in Native Instruments Maschine and Komplete Kontrol. The soundset also supports audio previews for Maschine and Komplete Kontrol.
As a bonus, all sounds have been recorded as audio files, ready to load into your Elektron samplers, Polyend Trackers or favourite software samplers — bringing the love and warmth of the ’80s straight into your workflow.
Neon City is on sale for the intro price of 9.90 EUR until June 7th, 2026 (regular 19.90 EUR). Use coupon code NEONCITY at the checkout to get the discount.
