Plughugger has announced the release of an ambient soundset for the Omnisphere 3 virtual instrument by Spectrasonics. Built around shimmering pads, mysterious textures, endless keys and atmospheric effects, The Endless Blue is the spiritual successor to Deep Ocean, expanding the journey into a deeper, more immersive underwater world inspired by Waiting for Cousteau by Jean-Michel Jarre.
For The Endless Blue, Plughugger recorded FM-based tones from the Teenage Engineering OP-1 Field and transformed them through the SOMA WARP, focusing on its liquid, shimmering reverb character. These fragile, glass-like sounds were combined with drifting sawtooth clusters and unstable analog tones from the Behringer Pro-800, further shaped using WARP’s Tape and Nyquist algorithms. Processed piano textures were added to bring in a distant, human presence.
These waveforms were paired with the new soundsources in Omnisphere 3, including flutes and tape-based pianos. No material from earlier Omnisphere versions is used — the entire collection is based on Omnisphere 3 sources and original recordings.
This collection contains 156 sounds:
- 13 Arpeggios & Sequences.
- 15 Effects.
- 46 Pads & Strings.
- 23 Synth & Keys.
- 19 Textures & Soundscapes.
- 40 Combined Multis.
The soundset is on sale for the intro price of 9.90 EUR until May 10th, 2026 (regular 29.90 EUR). Use coupon code WAITING at the checkout to get the discount.
