Press Play has announced a major update to its true-peak stereo limiter designed for precise control and instant visual feedback.
Version 2.0 of Wave Breaker for Windows and Mac (VST3, AU and AAX) introduces two new limiter models:
- PeakMaster Pro is designed for mastering and and other high-quality limiting tasks, offering low distortion even at high gain reduction levels. It features adaptive re-calibration based on input signal analysis and a sensitivity control for fine-tuning its response.
- Clipper X is a soft clipping model with two tweakable controls, “soft knee” and “envelope”, which can be used to shape the response of the processor, allowing it to act more like a fast limiter if desired.
All models include true-peak detection and operate with 4x oversampling at common sample rates (44.1-48 kHz) to minimize aliasing artifacts to a minimum.
Additional improvements include a new safety limiter stage, mono channel support, enhanced oscilloscope controls and a number of UI refinements.
The original Clarity One model remains fully functional in the free version of Wave Breaker. PeakMaster Pro and Clipper X are available with a paid license, which is on offer priced $79 USD / 69 EUR.
Wave Breaker is also available in a bundle with Wave Observer Pro for $88 USD / 79 EUR, and to celebrate the release there is an additional limited-time introductory discount of 20% on all plugins and bundles.
