Prism Audio has announced the Model S virtual instrument, which was sampled from a legendary Steinway D concert grand piano.

Model S was recorded in a large recording studio, using high end microphones to capture the smallest details of this giant instrument. We treated each sample: cut & cleaned, without any undesirable artifact.

The end result is a rich, warm and resonant sound. In add, we created a really simple GUI, to make the most “easy-to-use” and inspiring instrument.

Model S features

  • 1,637 Samples (24 bit / 44.1 kHz / Uncompressed).
  • 16 Velocity Layers per Note.
  • 3 Microphone Positions (Main, Room & Hall).
  • Mid / Side Control for “Main” Microphone.
  • Main Mic Release Control.
  • Hall Mic Decay Control.
  • 3 Dynamic Response (Velocity Curve).
  • Sustain Pedal compatible.
  • 1.35GB (MacOS) / 1.8GB (Windows).
  • 6.26GB Installed.

Model S is available for Windows and macOS in VST and AU plugin formats. It has an intro price of $49 USD until March 18th (regular $79 USD).

Also available is the Atmos Piano, a free sample-based instrument plugin.
