Quantastical Sound has released a reverb plugin built around a network of coupled rooms rather than a single simulated space. CORRIDOR places the listener in the middle of several connected rooms, with sound bleeding between them through resonant corridors instead of one algorithm modeling one room.
Founder Jonas Quant built the concept after recording vocal overdubs into the empty concrete corridors and rooms of a studio floor.
When I recorded Hurts Happiness, the studio I rented had a whole floor with big empty concrete corridors and empty rooms off them. I used to put a cheap portable recorder in different spots out there and sing vocal overdubs into the space, recording them wet. It sounded fantastic. I have wanted to build a plugin that does that ever since.
CORRIDOR is a standalone evolution of the reverb engine that previously lived inside Quantastical Sound’s STRÄNG synthesizer instrument, now with significantly more control.
