Quantastical Sound has released an update to its software synthesizer for Windows and macOS (VST3, AU, AAX and standalone).
Version 2.2 of STRANG comes with various improvements and fixes.
STRANG 2 is built around a single conviction. A great synth should breathe. So we took the bones of a classic subtractive, one core oscillator, the helpers it needs, filters that bite, and grafted convolution into its body. The result isn’t a hybrid. It’s a subtractive that finally has room to live in. With our Corridor reverb engine built in, that room is architecture, not algorithm. Every note arrives from a place.
Changes in STRANG v2.2
- Chord scale modes for all seven scales (Major through Locrian), so chord mode follows the key you’re actually in.
- Global aftertouch sensitivity with spike rejection.
- LIVING BODY: A new deep control that slowly evolves the body while a note rings, organic movement that never quite loops.
- MORPH + RATE moved up onto the main panel.
- Added a proper neutral blank-slate INIT.
- Level-matched preset bank, and 30 factory presets that were accidentally hidden are back.
- Various fixes including strum direction, held-note WAVE crackle, unison count, dual-layer polish, and more.
The update is free for existing owners of STRANG 2. New customers can purchase the synth for $59 USD.
