Quantastical Sound has announced an update to its software synthesizer instrument for Windows and Mac (VST3, AU and AAX).
Version 2.3.3 of STRÄNG brings a physically modeled exciter which plucks a real Karplus-Strong string straight into the convolution body.
Blend it in with the STRING bar, shape it with TYPE / ATTACK / DAMP / DECAY. Subtle amounts add attack life to pads; full amounts turn STRÄNG into a plucked instrument resonating through its own body. A GLIDE switch lets the string follow portamento or stay anchored at the struck pitch for shifting-partial duotones. STRING is also MIDI-learnable.
Other changes include:
- Full MPE support with two independent per-note expression axes and intelligent per-note pitch rounding.
- Preset packs and sharing with a .strangpack format, including import/export.
- Improved aftertouch.
- Every mod wheel and aftertouch routing is now a bipolar depth control.
- Pitch modulation.
- Compressor attack/release.
- New super-light visualizer mode on the output tab’s display section.
- Various fixes including a major GUI performance fix on Windows.
