Quietformat has announced a major rebuild of its dynamic resonance suppressor plugin designed to reduce harsh peaks, sibilance, ringing, fizz, sharp high-frequency buildup, and boxy low-mid resonances in real time.
Unlike a static EQ, PURGE Plus follows the movement of the audio and applies dynamic suppression only when resonances appear.
Version 1.5.0 brings a rework across the plugin’s DSP, user interface, presets, performance behavior, and licensing system, with the goal of making it more precise, more stable, and easier to use in real mixing sessions.
The DSP engine has been revised to improve how PURGE Plus detects resonances that stand out from the surrounding spectrum. The update focuses on cleaner resonance detection, smoother dynamic suppression, better tone preservation, improved low-buffer stability, and lower CPU usage. The plug-in now includes Precision Mode for mixing and mastering, and Live Mode for recording and monitoring.
The interface has also been redesigned, with a new analyzer view, clearer Guide Nodes, Delta monitoring, updated metering, resize support, and a revised workflow for presets and licensing. The factory preset library has been rebuilt with 72 presets covering vocals, drums, bass, guitars, keys, synths, mix bus, and mastering use cases.
