Reitzwerk has announced the release of a new virtual instrument which takes the concept of the original CreakBox bassline synth and brings it back as a modern 64-bit VST3 instrument for Windows, rebuilt and substantially expanded for current electronic music production.
An acid bass-and-drum instrument, CreakBox V2 is inspired by classic analog workflows rather than a strict emulation of a single vintage machine.
CreakBox V2 combines analogue circuit-modelled bass synthesis, sample-free rhythm synthesis and effects in one production instrument. It is built for the immediacy of classic acid hardware without giving up modern control.
Up to 16× real-time oversampling suppresses aliasing and spectral foldback when resonance, accent, filter drive and distortion generate new harmonics. Export rendering is always processed at 16×.
CreakBox V2 features
- Acid-oriented bass synthesizer.
- Multiple resonant filter models.
- Extended pattern sequencer with note, gate, slide, accent and attack control.
- Integrated analog-style drum machine.
- Multiple analog-modelled distortion circuits.
- Tape saturation and soft clipping.
- Tape echo.
- Dedicated Circuit Bend section for more experimental sound design.
- Real-time parameter control and DAW automation.
Available to download at Reitzwerk, CreakBox V2 for Windows (VST3) is free to try. A personal license is available to purchase for £53 GBP.
