Rhodes has announced the availability of its first official plugin release. After the close of its ‘Missing Keys’ competition and the initial 45-day trial period, the full versions of the Rhodes V8 and V8 Pro are now available for sale.

This marks the final release of the first official Rhodes software instruments, which have been upgraded with new user interfaces and additional features.

Both instruments use a mixture of sampling and hyper-realistic modelling, drawing from a pool of 30,000 top-quality samples and complex behavioral emulation to achieve the acclaimed sound of the MK8 electric piano in your DAW.

For the first time, the hallowed sound and feel of the acclaimed Rhodes MK8 electric piano at your fingertips in any recording studio or live performance. The V8 is a deeply multi-sampled and modelled, hyper-realistic version of the Rhodes MK8, capturing all the nuance and character of the flagship electric piano. The only official software to carry the Rhodes name, the V8 is the final destination for musicians looking to augment their productions with the timeless beauty of ‘The True Rhodes Sound’.

The Missing Keys competition is now closed to new entries, and the winners, as judged by James Blake and James Smith, will be announced on March 23th during a Plugin Boutique livestream starting at 7pm (GMT) / 11am (PST).

This full launch also sees additional artist presets and profiles added to the V8 Pro. These come courtesy of an array of artists and producer luminaries, including Bill Laurance (Snarky Puppy), Andrew Huang, Steve Levine (Culture Club / Beach Boys), Sanjay C and Doctor Mix.

The V8 and V8 Pro are available now in VST/VST3, AU and AAX formats from the Rhodes store and at Plugin Boutique.
