Rockheyday has announced an update to its high-precision 5-band parametric equalizer for Windows (VST3). Balance 5 is designed for accurate tonal balancing, critical listening, and real-time visual feedback.
Version 1.3 introduces a VST3 version and optimizes spectrum processing and peak meter performance. It also comes with some UI refinements for improved visual consistency.
Combining transparent zero-latency processing with an intuitive node-based workflow, it enables fast and precise frequency shaping across a wide range of audio material. Integrated spectrum analysis and detailed metering provide continuous visual insight, making Balance 5 an effective tool for mixing, mastering, restoration, and general audio production.
Balance 5 features
- Engine: High-precision 5-band parametric equalizer.
- Interaction: Five draggable EQ nodes with mouse-wheel Q control.
- Filter Modes: Low Cut, Low Shelf, Peak, High Shelf, and High Cut per band.
- Processing: Zero-latency minimum-phase IIR architecture.
- Analyzer: Dual-Layer Input/Output FFT display with toggle control.
- Response Model: Internal 4.5 dB tilt and 350 ms ballistic decay.
- Metering: Dual-layer LR Peak meters (background = input, foreground = output).
- Output: -12 to +12 dB.
- Presets: Save/Load.
- Precision: 32-bit floating-point processing.
- Sample Rates: Host-dependent (VST3).
Balance 5 is available to purchase for $12.99 USD. The free and streamlined Balance 2 is a 2-band equalizer built on the same core DSP technology as Balance 5.
