Ambient producer and sound designer Chris Bryant aka S1gns Of L1fe has released a full polyphonic synthesizer instrument for Windows and macOS (VST3 and AU).
Featuring a hybrid analog and wavetable synthesis engine, Tranquility is built for evolving atmospheres, expressive harmony, and playable movement. The synth offers deep modulation, dual multimode filters, sequencing and chord tools, onboard effects, and a workflow designed to make complex, evolving sounds without burying everything under layers of menus.
Its starting point is the kind of music I love making: atmospheric, spacious, expressive, and able to unfold over time. But that can mean a focused bass, a delicate pluck, or a rhythmic figure just as easily as a long pad. Ambient music needs contrast. A small, clear sound can make the space around it feel enormous.
Tranquility features
- 6 connected workspaces: Play, Build, Motion, Sequence, FX, and Library.
- 3 main oscillators and a sub source combining analog waveforms, wavetables, and samples, with up to 8 unison voices per source and two flexibly routed filters.
- 4 envelopes, 4 LFOs, and 4 random sources for modulation, with velocity, pressure, mod wheel, and full MPE expression.
- 4-pattern, 16-step Field Composer combining notes, chords, probability, and Field positions, with MIDI export for further arrangement in a DAW.
- 9-slot effects rack including glow reverb, tuned shimmer, delay, chorus, and distortion.
- 30 factory patches plus Init, 30 factory wavetables, and 20 samples.
Tranquility is available to purchase for $20 USD. The download includes the synthesizer, factory sounds, and user manual alongside the audio tracks.
