Sample Logic has announced the next step in assisted music creation. Developed in collaboration with Pitch Innovations, Animation Station Pro builds on Animation Station 2.0’s step animator engine by turning it into a virtual instrument plugin that loads other instruments and effects inside itself, then drives every parameter that matters with the same step sequencers, LFOs, and arpeggiators.
Because AS Pro hosts plugins internally, VST-only instruments and effects, including titles that were never ported to AU, can be played and animated inside AU-only hosts like Logic Pro.
Animation Station PRO features
- Universal Instrument Host for loading and playing any VST or AU instrument inside the plugin, with no extra routing or tracks.
- Intelligent MIDI Sequencer & Arpeggiator with real-time ABCD pattern switching, key switch assignment, multi-directional patterns, stutters, and chromatic transposition.
- FX Animation Engine for hosting audio effect plugins and animating their parameters with the same sequencing and modulation tools used for instruments.
- Channel Preset vault that recalls a hosted instrument, effects chain, MIDI pattern, and FX animation together as one preset.
- 900+ combined MIDI and FX Animation presets, independently browsable, including the “Breaking Borders” collection by Ben Aylon.
- Standalone app mode for switching between full animated setups live, with drag-and-drop MIDI export and infinite pattern randomization.
The MIDI sequencing and FX animation engines work independently or together, so a patch can run as a pure arpeggiator, a static sound animator, or both at once.
