SampleRoll has introduced a new morphing filter plugin built around 9 filter characters and a scale-aware chord engine, allowing a swept filter to land on notes of a chosen key.
FLTR runs two filter cores wired Single, Series, Parallel, Split L/R, Split M/S, or Band, each driven through one of 9 characters, with shape continuously morphing within whichever character is selected.
Tune snaps the cutoff to the nearest note of a chosen scale, so sweeping the filter plays in key, while Chord and Harmony go further, snapping incoming partials to the notes of a chord in that key, built and rung automatically from whatever source material is fed in.
Every patch is two complete sounds, A and B, and a bar that moves between them. Blend crossfades the two. Morph glides every setting from one to the other. Follow lets the level of the input move it, Weave and Random switch sides on the beat, and Split puts A below a crossover and B above it. Each side has its own dice, and a third rolls the lot.
FLTR features
- 9 filter characters: Ladder, SEM, Fold, Comb, Formant, Phase, Chord, Harmony, and Shift, level-matched so switching changes color, not volume.
- 2 complete sound slots, A and B, with 6 morph types (Blend, Morph, Follow, Weave, Random, Split) for moving between them.
- 4 modulation sources, drag-routed rather than matrix-routed: Follow (envelope follower), Move (LFO), Draw (32-step sequencer), and Macro.
- Push layer with 8 extra functions: Tune, Key, Feedback, FM, Space (echo/reverb), Comp, Freeze, and Arp.
- 14 selectable scales, or a custom scale edited from the on-screen keyboard.
- Built-in 3-band OTT-style compressor and 4 quality modes trading latency for resolution.
FLTR for Windows and macOS (VST3/AU and standalone) is on sale for the launch price of $29 USD for a limited time (regular $49 USD).
Also released recently is DRFT, a VHS/CRT circuit-bend effect.
Six character knobs – burn, drift, bend, dropout, wash, noise – run your audio through a dying tape machine, while a CRT on the panel shows the same damage on a picture: your video, a GIF, a live camera, or one of 23 built-in generators you can blend with your footage. Dropouts tear picture and sound together, feed lets the picture push back into the audio, and REC exports what you see and hear as a real MP4 in 16:9, 9:16 or ultrawide.
DRFT is also on sale for $29 USD for a limited time. Customers can also purchase a bundle of FLTR, DRFT and the previously released SHFT for $59 USD through October 31st, 2026.
