Samples From Mars has announced the release of a new sample pack featuring sounds of the iconic Rhythm King analog drum machine from Maestro.
It took us a few years to track down both machines – the Rhythm King MRK-2 (1971) and MRK-4 (and 1975) – but it was well worth the wait. They sound surprisingly different, but there’s an unmistakable family resemblance – the kind you’d expect from distant cousins.
We sampled every available drum sound from both machines with multiple round robins, captured the original factory rhythms, and then pushed the machines far beyond their intended purpose to uncover entirely new grooves. Ranging from clean and classic to modern, distorted mayhem, the result is a collection of 376 one-shots and 200 loops ranging from authentic, vintage rhythmbox grooves to dirty, driving, saturated rhythms.
Rhythm King From Mars contains a total of 576 samples (376 one shots and 200 loops). The pack is on sale for the the launch price of $14.50 USD for a limited time (regular $29 USD).
