Scaler Music has announced an update to its plugin and standalone app that aims to help producers and songwriters find, build, and develop chord progressions, melodies, and harmonies.
Designed to make composition, arrangement, and live playback even more intuitive, version 3.2 of Scaler brings major creative and workflow improvements.
Scaler 3 makes it easier to take new directions, solve musical puzzles, and improve your works-in-progress in completely new ways.
Changes in Scaler 3.2
- Added Scenes in the Arrange Page, allowing you to group chords or clips (eg, Chorus, Verse) and edit them as one.
- User Track Recording lets you record Scaler’s MIDI output directly into the User Track, including Chord Triggers and Keys Lock notes, and a new metronome has been added for timing reference.
- Added the Scaler Search Box to the Section B scale selector for faster scale lookup.
- Scale Lock on the Browse Page now instantly transposes chord sets.
- Added Note Follow / Divisi to distribute chord notes across tracks for more realistic voicings.
- Scaler now opens on the Welcome Page for clearer navigation and easier access to tutorials.
- Current Scale Voicing Presets from the Colors Page can now be accessed directly in Section B using arrow navigation.
- Added the ability to keyswitch between lanes on pages that feature multiple Bind buttons.
- Enlarged and clarified the loop selection area, now with a draggable middle section.
- Added External MIDI Out in both the plugin and standalone versions for better routing and performance workflows.
- Added the ability to Rename and Reorder Tracks for clearer session organisation.
- …and many more additions, improvements, and fixes across the software.
The update is free for existing users, and new customers can purchase Scaler 3 for $69 USD at Plugin Boutique as part of a Black Friday promotion (regular $99 USD). Scaler EQ, DC Snares and bundles are also available at a discount through November 30th, 2025.
