Scaler Music has announced an update to its music production plugin that is designed to make it easier to take new directions, solve musical puzzles, and improve your works-in-progress in completely new ways.
Version 3.1.2 of Scaler 3 comes with various refinements.
Our team has been working tirelessly to make Scaler 3 the most powerful and refined music-making tool out there. This release marks a major step toward the maturity of Scaler – something we could never have achieved without the incredible input and support of our community. Thank you for helping us shape Scaler into what it is today. Stay tuned – we’ve got some massive new features coming in Scaler 3.2 and can’t wait to share them with you. Changes in Scaler v3.1.2
- Bass Follow (Arrange Page): Can now be applied as a global motion.
- Mute Tool: Added mute icon to the Arrange page, making it easier to mute chords and clips (previously only possible via Shift+Click).
- Live Sync Optimisation: Improved plugin responsiveness and reduced lag when using Live Sync.
- Scale Detection: When multiple matches exist, Scaler now prioritises Major/Minor scales (e.g. A Minor over Gb Mixolydian).
- MIDI Detection: Improved accuracy in distinguishing single notes and chords.
- Keyboard Navigation: Lists in Section A (Browse) can now be scrolled and selected via up/down arrow keys; added < and > for category navigation.
- Suggest Chords / Neo-Riemannian: Improved handling of chords without 3rds or 5ths when Minimise Movement is enabled.
- Help Access: New Help tab in the settings menu links directly to documentation.
- Various bug fixes.
Scaler 3 for Windows and Mac (VST/VST3, AU and AAX) is priced $99 USD.
The update is free for existing owners of the plugin. New customers can purchase a bundle of Scaler 3 and Scaler EQ at Plugin Boutique for $99 USD until September 30th, 2025.
