Scrap Brain Audio has introduced a new generative synthesizer instrument designed to make sound exploration fast and unpredictable. WX is built for quick accidents, slow movement, and tones that feel like they are being negotiated in real time.
WX is intentionally compact. The interface stays restrained so the sound can do the strange part.
Every session starts from a random seed. Double-click the radar, and the entire synthesis engine reshuffles — oscillator shape, filter tuning, envelope curve, effects balance, drift behavior — all from a single generative algorithm.
Currently available for Windows (VST3 and standalone, macOS AU/VST3 support coming soon), the plugin features an 8-voice polyphonic architecture, dual DPW oscillators with 4 modes, wavetable and drift engines, a multi-mode state variable TPT filter, and various effects.
