Serato has announced a major update to one of its flagship products. Version 2.2.0 of the Serato Sample plugin introduces deeper hardware-software integration and expanded sound capabilities. The update builds on Sample’s acclaimed Stems technology with Stems Levels and Stems Automation, expanding producers’ creative control for more dynamic, expressive productions.
This update arrives alongside the launch of SLAB, Serato’s first-ever pad controller designed specifically for Serato Studio, co-developed with AlphaTheta Corporation. SLAB also offers native control of Serato Sample with a versatile MIDI mode that allows for custom mapping in any compatible DAW. This creates an expressive, intuitive beat making experience that bridges the Serato ecosystem seamlessly with artists’ workflow.
In Sample 2.2.0, users gain control over Stems On/Off, Stem Levels and Stem Automation via SLAB’s dedicated encoders, or within their respective DAW for precise mix and performance control.
Changes in Sample v2.2.0
- Native Control for AlphaTheta SLAB — Stay in flow with SLAB’s native Sample integration or use MIDI Mode to switch to custom mapping inside your DAW — from scrubbing waveforms, setting cue points and stem separation to pitch and time stretching.
- Stem Levels — Acapella, melody, bassline, and drum stems can now be individually leveled within the mix of any sample.
- Automate Stems — Stem On/Off and individual Stem Levels are now fully available as automation parameters within users’ respective host DAW.
- Mouse Wheel Support — Mouse scroll support has been added to knobs and draggable fields in Sample, enabling faster, more intuitive adjustments.
A free update to existing users, new customers can purchase Serato Sample for Windows and Mac (VST3, AU and AAX) for $159 USD at Plugin Boutique, AudioDeluxe, and from the Serato store.
