Sessiondesk has announced a new modular acoustic treatment system which reimagines studio acoustics as reconfigurable building blocks. With its unique tool-free SBX x-connector system, SessionbloX allows producers and engineers to effortlessly set up and modify their acoustic treatment, from fully treated control rooms to vocal booths and wheeled gobos, all built from the same core components.
At the center of the SessionbloX family are the SBX core and SBX sub, high-efficiency acoustic panels. Engineered for precision, the SBX core handles broadband frequencies while the SBX sub targets deep subsonic energy.
Beyond their acoustic power, they represent a commitment to health and sustainability: free of mineral wool and synthetic foams, both panels are built with a 100% natural wood fiber interior, ensuring a listening environment that is as safe as it is great-sounding.
SessionbloX are connected together in a simple way, requiring no tools, enabling stacking or suspension from a ceiling.
To help customers configure their studio space, there is a FREE Online Room Calculator which shows not only the suggested number of panels needed, but also calculates the frequencies of the most common standing waves.
In addition there is also a handy tool for tackling these standing waves – using a simple slider to calculate the relationship between the Air Gap behind the panel and the absorption frequency – an easy method to address known acoustic problems.
Because SessionbloX is a modular system, much thought has gone into the various mounting options. SBX-wall is a metal french cleat system for secure and easy installation directly to studio walls, saving floor space while maintaining broadband absorption.
- SBX-cloud is a secure suspension system with height-adjustable metal cables which reduces ceiling reflections and reverberation. The clean, floating design integrates seamlessly with SBX core & SBX sub.
- SBX-x-angle connects SBX panels at a freely-assignable angle for corners or enclosed setups, such as vocal booths – supporting both horizontal and vertical configurations. This enhances room treatment flexibility and modularity possibilities.
- Adding the stand & wheel option turns the SBX Core into an effective mobile gobo, for flexible studio accoustics.
There are many other options, such as windows, free-standing bases, wheels, and fabric covers. More options will be added regularly.
