Shattered Glass Audio has announced the release of a free, compact version of its Phoenix 2 effect plugin.
Phoenix LT brings the authentic sound of an all-tube analog preamp to your DAW. The preamp derives its unique sonic character from two 12AU7 triodes used in the voltage amplification stages. To achieve the most authentic analog sound, the whole preamp circuit is simulated in real time using Shattered Glass Audio’s state-of-the-art circuit simulator. The three-band EQ can be positioned either before or after the preamp, or be completely taken out of the signal chain.
Use Phoenix LT to add warmth to a track, as a saturation compressor, or to add “dirt” with tube overdrive.
Phoenix LT is free and available to download for Windows and Mac (VST3, AU and AAX) and iOS/AUv3.
Phoenix 2, which offers a wider variety of saturation flavors and additional EQs, is on sale for $29.99 USD (desktop) and $17.99 USD (iOS) through January 1st, 2026.
