Sinevibes has announced the release of its newly-developed raindrop delay effect plugin for KORG synthesizers. Version 2 of Droplet refines the original concept with a more natural sound and better parameter calibration, and it also finally comes to KORG’s second-generation platforms: NTS-1 mkII, NTS-3 and microKORG2.
Droplet is a raindrop delay effect: it features multiple delay lines connected in series via a proportional feedback system, with each delay’s time randomized in order to recreate a naturally chaotic sound – similar to water drops falling onto a surface. Due to its wide parameter range, Droplet not only produces its trademark “raindrop delay” effect – but can also go from early reflections to dense, full-bodied reverbs with enormously long tail duration. This algorithm’s built-in modulation also adds a beautiful unison-like dimension to the sound.
The new Droplet v2 is an upgraded plugin on KORG’s first-generation platforms: prologue, minilogue xd and NTS-1. It has been rebuilt from the ground up to offer a more pleasant sound signature with more subtle modulation, improved parameter calibration, as well as slightly increased efficiency. And the plugins is an all-new product for KORG’s second-generation platforms: NTS-1 mkII, NTS-3 and microKORG2. On these newer devices, Droplet v2 offers two additional parameters: randomized stereo width and time modulation depth.
Droplet v2 for KORG platforms is available to purchase for $19 USD. The plugin is a free upgrade (in all formats) for those who purchased the previous version.
