Slooply has launched a new version of its platform. The update goes beyond a visual redesign, changing how sounds are searched and organized while introducing two new tools: Stack Composer and SFX Generator. The goal is simple: to shorten the path from hearing a sound for the first time to developing an idea in a DAW.
At the heart of Slooply is a library of more than 2 million samples, MIDI files and presets created by sample makers and labels. Content available through paid plans can be used under a royalty-free license. The redesigned platform brings greater structure to this catalogue and connects it with tools for finding inspiration, trying different loop combinations and creating sound effects for specific projects.
Redesigned Around User Feedback
Work on the new version took several months. During that time, the team collected feedback from users about search, filters, product pages and everyday account management. That input shaped a new interface, a simplified logo and rebuilt key views, from the homepage to sample listings and product pages.
Much of the work focused on filters, because they determine how quickly someone can find the right material in a large library. The main content types, Sample Packs, Samples, MIDI and Presets, now serve as the starting point for the rest of the search. Each choice defines the filters that follow, keeping the list of options shorter and easier to understand.
A new Character filter uses audio analysis to group sounds by character, energy and groove.
Slooply has also introduced filter search using everyday descriptions. Producers who do not know the name of an instrument can describe its sound or origin instead. A search for a guitar-like instrument associated with ethnic music, for example, may suggest a sitar, oud or saz.
Smaller updates include sample looping, automatic playback of consecutive sounds, clearer account settings and personalized feeds based on followed labels.
Stack Composer: A Starting Point for an Empty Session
Stack Composer works with loops already available in the Slooply library. It selects elements that fit together musically and combines them into a new stack. It is not a finished-song generator. It is a quick way to find a direction when a producer wants to start working but does not yet have a specific idea.
Users can choose a genre, change the tempo or key, replace individual loops and remove anything they do not need. When a stack fits the project, all its elements can be exported as a ZIP file and moved into any DAW, where the producer can build the arrangement, beat and mix.
SFX Generator: Describe a Sound in Your Own Words
SFX Generator is built for moments when searching existing libraries takes longer than using the effect itself. The user enters a description, chooses a shorter or longer version and receives several variations within seconds. Every result is saved to the user’s account, making it easy to return to later.
Effects are delivered as 44.1 kHz, 24-bit WAV files. They can be used in music, podcasts, video, animation and games. The generator can handle simple cues and transitions as well as detailed sound scenes that are difficult to find under a single term in a conventional catalogue.
Technology Should Support the Work, Not Replace the Creator
“Samples made by people remain at the heart of Slooply, from live guitar recordings to parts created by experienced sample makers. We use new technology where it can improve the workflow, help someone find the right sound or get past a creative block. We do not want to replace the creative process with finished music.”
The Slooply ecosystem also includes a desktop app and Bridge VST, allowing producers to browse and preview content closer to their DAW environment. Stack Composer and SFX Generator continue in the same direction. Each tool supports a different stage of the workflow while leaving the artistic decisions with the user.
Slooply is already working on another tool focused on discovering inspiration and experimenting freely with sound. Further details will be announced at a later date.
