Soft Loop Audio has announced the release of a new plugin which uses music theory and physics-based logic to generate evolving MIDI sequences that lock to your scale.
Harmonic Echo is designed to be a fun tool that lets users get started quickly and simply, and experiment with new melodic and harmonic ideas.
This is a generative MIDI effect that transforms simple input into evolving, musical sequences. Instead of just repeating your notes, it climbs, falls, and harmonizes through the scale of your choice—acting like a creative co-pilot in real-time.
Harmonic Echo features
- Intelligent Harmony: Select your Key and Mode (Major, Minor, Lydian, etc.). Every echo snaps perfectly to the scale, so you never hit a wrong note.
- Playable Visualization: The interface isn’t just a display—it’s an instrument. Use the interactive piano roll to audition scales and trigger echoes manually.
- Polymetric Phrasing: The unique “Hold” engine groups echoes into rhythmic clusters, allowing you to break the standard grid and create complex, weaving patterns.
- Visual Feedback: Watch your harmonies cascade in real-time with a physics-inspired UI that visualizes velocity and decay.
Available as a “pay what you like” download (including free), Harmonic Echo comes as a VST3 plugin for Windows, Mac and Linux.
