Soniccouture has announced the release of an update to its powerful ambient sound design tool featuring a huge library of recordings by Chris Watson.
Version 2 of Haunted Spaces expands the core sample library to contain 178 original Chris Watson field recordings, combined with hundreds of custom synth, acoustic and percussion waveforms to blend with the ambiences. Notable sample sets in V2 include special versions of Soniccouture’s Threnody Strings, Deep Felt, Nyckelharpas, Glassworks and many more, and the 112 presets have been added to bring the total to 560.
Field recordist Chris Watson has spent years collecting audio recordings from what he describes as ‘Haunted Spaces’. A personal obsession, he believes that past events add a charge to the atmosphere of places, and can be felt and detected in their sonic ambience.
