sonicLAB has announced the release of a unique software synthesizer and groundbreaking audiovisual instrument for sound designers and composers working with experimental music technology.
Protean uses fluid dynamics and relevant particle forces/interactions to render and organize hundreds of sine waves.
Designed and developed by Sinan Bokesoy; the preset creations of this instrument include Ryan Pryor, Laurent Mialon and Daito Manabe.
Protean creates an immersive experience where particle interactions within a non-gravitational fluid simulation generate ever-evolving soundscapes. As particles flow, coalesce, and interact, they trigger sound synthesis events; and these relevant particle forces/interactions render and organize hundreds of sine waves.
Protean is available as a standalone software for Windows and Mac, and the ProteanRemote VST3/AU plugin can remotely control the application inside any DAW.
Regularly priced 139 EUR, Protean is on sale for the intro price of 89 EUR until May 31st, 2025.
