sonicLAB has updated its generative sound synthesis software developed in collaboration with Daito Manabe. Version 2.1 of PolyNodes adds custom MIDI CC assignment directly on the application interface.
PolyNodes extracts and analyzes the temporal properties of the input sound and maps them in a 3D space to create a visible geometric structure. This pioneering approach allows to identify key sound moments as geodesic points or nodes, interconnected through a network of triangulations. The result is a multi-scale complex sonic navigation through its input material.
Changes in PolyNodes v2.1
- Any PolyNodes slider can be assigned a MIDI CC number by using a MIDI controller hardware with an intuitive MIDI learn process.
- The MIDI controllers value range will be automatically matched to the range of the assigned PolyNodes slider.
- The settings are remembered when quitting the app. They are also maintained as specific files so that users can backup different settings.
- Alternately one can also use the PolyNodes Remote plugin on a DAW and assign all the remote controllable parameters to a MIDI controller.
- Bug Fix: Switching back from Low Resolution analysis mode to High Resolution mode was making the app unstable. This has been fixed.
PolyNodes for Windows and Mac is priced 139 EUR. The update is free for existing PolyNodes users.
