sonicLAB has announced an update to its generative sound synthesis software which aims to set a new bar in computer aided sound design and audio-visual interaction. Version 2.2 of PolyNodes comes with various improvements.
PolyNodes is our cutting-edge sound synthesis / generative audio platform that is set to transform the way one interacts with sound. PolyNodes transcends traditional sound design by expanding two-dimensional waveforms into a dynamic 3D spatial navigation experience.
PolyNodes extracts and analyzes the temporal properties of the input sound and maps them in a 3D space to create a visible geometric structure. This pioneering approach allows to identify key sound moments as geodesic points or nodes, interconnected through a network of triangulations. A 10 sec. waveform can create several thousands of node connections. PolyNodes combines the architectural approach to sound design with multi-scale sound composition.
Changes in PolyNodes v2.2
- Users can drag and drop audio waveforms directly on the application window.
- PolyNodes will replace its audio buffer content automatically and recalculate the PolyNodes 3D structure accordingly.
- When a user saves the preset with this new audio file content, PolyNodes will create a copy of this audio file in UserSamples folder and reference it to the preset.
- Optimizations on CombFilter, BitCrusher and Envelope methods.
The update is free to existing PolyNodes users. The standalone app for Windows and macOS is priced £115 GBP. It comes with the PolyNodesRemote VST3/AU plugin.
