Sonora Cinematic has introduced a free expansion pack which promises to deliver sounds that shimmer with tension, mystery, and wonder to Audiomodern’s Soundbox MPE-enabled sampler.
Renowned for its Kontakt libraries and instruments including Panorama Guitars, Emma Legato, Poiesis Cello and more, Sonora Cinematic’s foray into Soundbox collections debuted last month with the release of Post Rock Guitars Vols 1 and 2.
Following the overwhelming response from Soundbox users, this latest expansion pack showcases more of the developer’s sound design expertise – for free.
Drift was born from an ambitious orchestral recording session for a forthcoming virtual instrument. Exploring flutter-tongue woodwind articulations and manipulating their rich, unpredictable textures with experimental processing and sound design, the result is an intriguing palette of sounds that range from shimmering pads and ghostly harmonics to tense, whispering winds and more.
Drift’s evolving textures and tonal ambiguity make it ideal for adding atmosphere, depth, and emotion to any cinematic production – whether scoring an unsettling dream sequence, a mysterious forest scene, or a moment of quiet revelation. Yet, its versatility extends beyond cinematic themes – Drift also thrives in ambient and downtempo music, experimental electronica, and even genres like dream pop, lo-fi, and deep techno.
Drift is available now as a free download for Sonora Cinematic newsletter subscribers. The Soundbox sampler is also free, available to download at Audiomodern.
