Sonuscore has announced the release of a new instrument library set out to bring back the grandeur of classic orchestral film scores. A Hollywood dream for film composers, LUX Orchestral Strings delivers big gestures, massive ensembles, and expansive dynamic range with true pianissimo (ppp) and explosive fortissimo (fff).
With 70 string players recorded on a large concert stage, LUX is the company’s most ambitious project to date, offering composers an experience that feels as close as possible to standing on the scoring stage.
“From the beginning, we set out to build something unlike anything we’ve ever made,” said Tilman Sillescu, Co-Founder and Creative Director of Sonuscore. “LUX gives composers not just an orchestral string ensemble, but a living, breathing instrument that inspires ambition in every note.”
Some of the most memorable moments in cinema are inseparable from their music: the opening brass fanfare of Star Wars, the menacing low strings of Jaws, or the magical shimmer as E.T. and Elliott flew across the moon. These scores did more than support the films – they became part of the cultural memory. LUX Orchestral Strings was created to capture that very power, enabling today’s composers to write music that resonates on the same emotional scale.
