Splice Sounds has launched SOPHIE Samples, a new collection of over 250 one-shot samples and loops by Los Angeles based record producer and DJ SOPHIE aka Samuel Long.
SOPHIE has earned quite a reputation over the past few years, with production credits on tracks with Charlie XCX, Vince Staples, Madonna, Cashmere Cat and many other talented artists. Self-described as a “hyper-kinetic” take on pop music, the mysterious producer is known for featuring pitched-up vocals and lush, electronic synthesized textures.
SOPHIE’s unique sound design has powered hits across a vast expanse of genres, but the reclusive producer has never before shared their samples for others to use. That all changes with the release of this pack, which features everything from the metallic, plastic synth glitches of “Lemonade/Hard” to the massive subs of “Bossed Up” with Quay Dash. The prolific pop producer has also cooked up 20 punchy percussion hits, 18 creepy textural soundscapes, 57 synth FX experiments, and more than 100 kicks and snares to use in your own genre-bending beats.
