Soundtrap, the online music studio used by millions of artists, producers, and songwriters worldwide, has announced the launch of a comprehensive overhaul of the platform designed to give creators more power without adding complexity.
Soundtrap 2.0 introduces a fully redesigned studio interface, a new native desktop app for Mac, a rebuilt mobile app, expanded automation capabilities, lifted track limits, and over 1,000 new loops and presets; all aimed at closing the gap between creative ambition and what Soundtrap can deliver.
“This new chapter builds on what millions already love about Soundtrap,” said Kish Davda, Product and Brand Marketing Lead. “We’ve taken the frictionless experience and real-time collaboration people rely on, and added a new level of power to match it.”
The redesigned studio brings a cleaner, more focused workspace built to keep creators in flow. The new Mac desktop app runs natively while syncing in real time with the cloud-based studio, giving users the stability and power of a local application alongside the flexibility of working from a browser. A newly rebuilt mobile app makes it easier to listen back and stay connected to projects on the go.
Expanded automations give users deeper expressive control over how effects evolve across a track, while the removal of track limits opens up more ambitious productions inside the platform. More than 1,000 new loops and presets round out the update, giving creators fresh material to build from from day one.
The launch has already sparked strong reaction from Soundtrap’s community. One long-time user on Discord wrote: “Holy wowie, been on Soundtrap since ’19 and Soundtrap has come a LONG way since then… the new UI is gorg as hell.”
Real-time collaboration remains at the core of the platform. Soundtrap lets artists, producers, and songwriters record, produce, and refine together in the same session regardless of location. A workflow built for how music gets made today.
To mark the launch, Soundtrap hosted a live AMA on Reddit, inviting existing and prospective users to ask questions directly about new features and what’s coming next.
Soundtrap 2.0 is available now from the Soundtrap website.
