Source Audio has released a new pedal that offers a comprehensive collection of compression circuits that aims to perfectly capture the tone and feel of the industry’s most sought-after compressors.

Straight out of the box the Atlas Compressor pedal offers 6 different styles of compression, ranging from sounds based on classic stompbox compressors like the now-discontinued Diamond Optical Compressor to high-end rack units like the snappy 1176 Compressor and the smooth and luxurious LA2A Optical Compressor.

Atlas also features advanced dual-band compression, which provides an independent set of controls for both the high and low frequencies. Each compression engine has onboard controls for Threshold, Ratio, Attack, Release, Output, Tone, and Mix, allowing for fine-tuned control over the compact One Series hardware.

“Offering up a deep library of compression options in a pedal is a landmark technical achievement,” says Source Audio President Roger Smith. “From iconic studio rack units, to classic pedals of many flavors, and even to the experience of high-end computer plug-ins, Atlas covers all the bases with an attention to detail that is the hallmark of our development team. Bob, Jesse and Christopher worked long and hard on this one.”

Atlas also makes it easy to transform the pedal into a bass specific compression machine. With the push of a button, the Atlas converts all six of its onboard factory presets to low-end responsive compression engines, precisely optimized for the complexities of the bass.

Atlas is also compatible with Source Audio’s Neuro Desktop Editor and Mobile App, a free download for Mac, Windows, iOS and Android devices.

This groundbreaking technology offers features simply not found in other effects pedals. Neuro provides the ability to create highly customized presets with its long list of additional parameters and features including Look Ahead compression, Soft Knee control, Auto Makeup Gain, Dual Compression signal routing, 8-Band Graphic Equalization, Parametric Equalization, flexible Knob Assignment, and Side Chain High and Low Pass Signal Detection controls. The Neuro Editor is also loaded with easy-to-download Factory Presets and an ever-growing library of Published User Presets created by the Atlas Neuro Community.

Atlas is available for purchase at a street price of $229 USD.
