Spektralisk has introduced a new sound pack for the Serum 2 software synthesizer by Xfer Records. A blueprint built around a simple shift in perspective, District explores what happens when the keyboard layout becomes the instrument.
Instead of focusing on synthesis complexity, District explores structured sample-to-keyboard mapping using SFZ as a canonical layer. A fixed pool of industrial textures, drones, and atmospheric material is transformed into multiple playable topologies. Same samples. Different mappings. Different musical outcomes.
District is not designed as a traditional preset collection. It is a set of constrained listening environments where mapping shapes perception, playability, and emergent behavior. To expand the sonic range, District also includes several non-SFZ-driven templates using Serum 2’s sampler, granular, and spectral oscillators – offering alternative interpretations of the same material.
District is on sale for the intro price of €19 EUR until March 11th, 2026 (regular €29 EUR). Use coupon code DISTRICT_INTRO at the checkout.
