Spitfire Audio has launched a free, fully playable browser game inviting musicians, composers, and producers to explore the world of Originals sounds through a top-down adventure – no download or install required.
Every instrument players uncover inside the game is a real Spitfire Audio Originals library sound, playable on the spot. And for those who look closely enough, the game hints at what’s coming next from Spitfire.
Built in-house by the Spitfire team, Originals Arcade is a bite-sized open-world adventure spread across four connected zones – grasslands, lava fields, snow, and a cyberpunk district – linked by an overworld hub. Players pick up tools that let them reveal instruments, with each discovery added to a playable collection, with a “Now Playing” panel linking out to explore each sound in full.
What’s inside the game
The main quest builds through the four zones toward the Mixing Room, where players can remix the worlds they’ve explored and re-arrange the parts of the soundtrack. Along the way, side quests unlock a Carrot Toss game, an asteroid-style space game, and a 30-second bonus platformer, each with public leaderboards.
Keen-eyed explorers may also stumble upon a hidden recreation of Paul Thomson’s real recording studio, rebuilt in-game, along with a Composer Magazine kiosk and further secrets tucked throughout. Easter eggs scattered across all four zones hint at what Spitfire Audio is releasing next, with a dedicated area of the game unlocking on July 9th.
Score the Bonus Round
Originals Arcade also includes a community challenge that goes beyond the high score. The game contains a short bonus level that ships deliberately without music. Spitfire Audio is inviting players to compose a soundtrack using at least one Originals library, then submit via the entry form, posting publicly with #SpitfireOriginals and tagging Spitfire Audio.
- Entries open: July 9th, closing August 1st, 2026.
- Criteria: Entries must use at least one Originals library.
- Judging: Entries will be judged by the Spitfire Audio team, with three winners selected.
- Prizes: First prize wins a bundle of brand-new Originals libraries, plus a one-year Splice INSTRUMENT subscription, with the winning score placed permanently in the live game and featured on the Spitfire Audio website. Second and third place each win a bundle of brand-new Spitfire Audio Originals libraries, launching July 9th.
Originals Arcade is free, requires no download or account, and plays in any browser.
