Spitfire Audio has announced the release of a new instrument that builds on the legacy of Soft Piano, the LABS pack which shaped the sound of countless pop hits, film scores and TV Soundtracks.
Captured at Baltic Studios in East London, this double-felted Yamaha U1 is perfect for singer-songwriters. We combined two layers of felt and used a selection of the best mics to get the close, intimate sound at the core of the indie-folk scene.
For the Soft Piano sequel, we were inspired by the piano in the home — the one surrounded by friends and family. This sound is defined not by its perfection, but by its imperfections.
