Splice’s latest Splice Originals series sample pack brings the smooth and sultry sounds of modern R&B with a little rap and hip hop flavor.

For Late Bloomer, SLMN (sol-o-mon) drew inspiration from artists such as Frank Ocean, Timbaland, Brent Faiyaz, H.E.R, PartyNextDoor, and BurnaBoy while leaning into his distinct mood-altering melodic sound.

Music was the cornerstone to SLMN‘s upbringing in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He spent years learning to play the tenor saxophone, trumpet, clarinet, guitar, piano, and drums. Finding a passion for the drums, in particular, led to him discovering FL Studio and the language of music production. Since then, he’s developed an expert ability to set a variety of moods no matter what instrument he wields – guitars, keys, bass, and synths weave in the background with rich and emotive melodies taking the lead, carrying the listener through each musical pathway.

SLMN is known for his large catalog of work with Toronto R&B stand-out Anders and has since collaborated with R&B and hip hop’s top-charting artists like Mariah Carey, Russ, Lil Yachty, Lil Gnar, Roy Wood$, and Tory Lanez.

Other recent Splice Originals titles include Dancehall International, Moods Trap Guitars, Air, Streetsweeper Southern Drill, and Dub Reggae feat. Isha Bel.

The samples are available to Splice subscribers, and new users can try Splice Sounds for free with a 14-day trial.
