Studio Mood has announced the release of a Max for Live software editor and MIDI controller for the Tubbutec SH-1oh1, the MIDI retrofit and feature extension for the Roland SH-101 analog synthesizer.
SH-1oh1 Control brings all MIDI-controllable SH-1oh1 parameters directly into Ableton Live, where they can be edited, automated and saved with an Ableton Live project.
At the heart of the device is the Mood Engine, a 24-preset system designed for turning one sound into a whole collection of related variations. Inspired by the fast sound-variation workflow associated with the legendary AFX Mode, it encourages you to create a sound, copy it to the next preset, change a few parameters and keep moving.
Instead of treating presets as isolated patches, the Mood Engine makes them feel like different states of the same sound. Start with a bass sequence, copy it, open the filter, change the envelope, add an accent or push the extra LFO into filter FM territory. Within minutes, you can build a complete bank of connected variations.
SH-1oh1 Control features
- Control Cutoff, Envelope, additional filter envelope (Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release), Accent (Filter, Volume, Decay) additional LFO for the filter with fine and coarse control (for crazy FM sounds).
- Select the mapping for velocity (None, Cutoff, Volume Accent, Filter Accent, Accent Switch, Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release).
- Choose the clock source for the Arpeggiator/Sequencer and Random LFO (internal LFO or external trigger input, MIDI clock, or MIDI note).
- Control the additional clock dividers for these clock sources.
- Save presets in Ableton and use the Send All button to send all values to the 101.
- Random and Reset function .
- Mood Engine saves up to 24 Presets in one knob.
- Copy every preset to the actual preset.
